Brief History

The Centro de Esperanza Infantil is a non-profit association founded in the city of Oaxaca on May 4, 1999 by thirteen members. The idea of helping street children arose in the heart of Ms. Jodi Bauman, when she saw children selling their bracelets or candy in the Zócalo. When she saw that there was a lot of interest in helping children in extreme poverty, she decided to ask her friends for help, who did not hesitate to help her. After seeing the need that existed in our city, and the interest in being helped,

she invited several people from Oaxaca to start this association. The main goal is to change the life cycle of these children by attending school and preparing for the future.

Our first logo

This was our first logo, where the education of children was represented with a child with his backpack, us guiding him, the hand holding him, and the bracelet woven by Oaxacan artisans.
